blue and white

Blue and white is timeless.
It is the freshest of colour combinations.
Not as starkly elegant as black and white, it is more accessible and flexible.

Oh my.
When I grow up, I would love to have a corner of my world look as elegant as this.
Maybe I could hide it in a cupboard and just open it every now and then for edification.
I'm afraid I'll never be the sort of person who could pull off this style.
"Where's the Ikea?" friends would ask.

This would be perfect for right here, right now.
For that summertime, beach-side feeling.
{Right now, in our Sydney winter I'm wearing my favourite ugg boots/Mighty Ducks hockey shirt combo - lookin' foxy!!}

A bit of modern-vintage-soft-industrial action.
{It's a new term I'm hoping will catch on - work with me peoples.}

I adore Cornishware.
My mum has loads of it.
I've already said to her to forget leaving me the Royal Doulton and Wedgwood - I just want the Cornishware.  We have these very frank discussions.
It makes us laugh.
You need to be thick-skinned in our family.

Hydrangeas - my favourites.
Works so beautifully with this very grown-up glass coffee table.
You just KNOW there's a fabulous rug happening underneath!

Gorgeous, but I'm not sure if that rug wouldn't give me head spins.
Love the touch of orange.

{Sigh} You can just smell the apple pie baking can't you?

So, so fresh.
Also loving the idea of the small bowls filled with anti-pasti and the Dutch carrots waiting for Peter Rabbit.
Must make a note of that for summer.
V. impressive and food stylist-esque.

Fresh and lovely {if a little over-organised}

Warm blue and white.
Love how the beige/coffee colours work so soothingly.
This looks straight from a Toast catalogue doesn't it?

For truly magnificent blue and white "tablescapes" you really need to check out Anna Spiro's blog "Absolutely Beautiful Things".  I  know most of you already know this, but just in case here's her link: {click}
She does ginger jars like nobody's business.

Love you more than Cornishware,

Meredy xo
