Canned Stuff

Yesterday I managed to put up seven more jars of tomatoes and seven of peaches. This keeps up I'm gonna have to build me a root cellar! I hope to put up at least another 24 pints of black eyed peas and if my fall beans produce at least that many pints of pole beans. I am also considering putting in a bed of yellow wax beans...I like them nearly as well as I like the Kentucky Wonder Pole beans. I gathered a pint of Cherry Tomatoes this morning after I made hay. The vines in the full sun have quit producing but I have twenty of the cherry variety under the live oaks where they get just enough filtered sun to keep blooming and ripening. Good tasting 'maters' but the skin on them is as tough as shoe leather...hell, I bet I could make a belt out of those skins if I knew how to sew them together. Also would make a good road surface...which is an idea...I need a good drive way...
